As a client of TrueStar Advisors, Inc., you have entrusted to our care, your hard-earned money and your personal financial data. We recognize that your relationship with us is based on trust and the confidence that we will act responsibly and in your best interest. We have the highest confidence in our ability and standards in the safekeeping and use of your information.

Be advised that we do not sell client or prospective client information to anyone under any circumstance. Your information is primarily used to complete transactions that you request or to make you aware of services that we offer as a Registered Investment Advisor.

Privacy is important to us and this Privacy Policy describes the information TrueStar Advisors, Incorporated (hereafter referred to as TSA, We, Us, Our) collects about you, how information is shared, and your privacy choices TSA.

This Privacy Policy outlines:

  • The types of information TSA gathers,
  • How TSA uses information,
  • With whom TSA might share information,
  • The means by which TSA keeps information secure, and
  • The choices you have about how you share information with us.

Pursuant to the Unites States Patriot Act, NYSE Rule 405 and FINRA Rule 2090, TSA is required to use appropriate due diligence, to learn the essential facts relative to every customer, and shall use reasonable diligence in regard to the opening and maintenance of every account. In order to comply with the laws, rules and regulations, TSA must gather relevant and essential facts about you. TSA is required by law to obtain certain personal facts about you to the extent necessary to provide you with investment advice and other administrative services. TSA utilizes this information to perform mission critical activities such as setting up new accounts, sending program documents and responding to your inquiries. There are no exceptions under federal or state law, or any other circumstance when it comes to personal fact disclosure. TSA is required to distribute our privacy policy to you on an annual basis, and since we require use of the Client Dashboard, distribution will take place through your TSA Inbox.

This Privacy Policy does not describe the practices of other TSA users, including third-party vendors, merchants, and service providers that may collect information from you when you interact with them through TSA. TSA encourages you to ask each about their privacy practices before providing any information to them. TSA may change this Privacy Policy from time-to-time. If TSA makes changes, TSA will notify you by posting the updated policy and revising the "Last Updated" date above. TSA encourages you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you use TSA to stay informed about our information practices and about ways you can help protect your privacy.

Information You Provide


TSA collects information you provide when you sign up for a TSA account. Your information is part of our identity verification process and required by law in the course of securities, insurance and registered investment advisory service transactions. TSA may collect, but shall not be limited to collecting basic user information, such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, birth date, Social Security Number, state identification number, financial information such as bank and investment accounts, payment card numbers and other historical, contact, and demographic information. TSA also collects information when you upload information to TSA about you or otherwise communicate with us. TSA may allow third-parties to provide analytics services. These third-parties may use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to collect information, such as your IP addresses, identifiers associated with your computer or mobile device or applications on the device, the browsers you use to visit TSA web pages, time spent on pages, links clicked, and conversion information. This information may be used by TSA to analyze, track data, determine the popularity of certain content, deliver messages and content targeted to your interests, and better understand your usage. This Privacy Policy does not apply to, and TSA is not responsible for, third-party cookies, web beacons, or other tracking technologies. TSA encourages you to check the privacy policies of these third-parties to learn more about their privacy practices.

Information TSA Collects from Other Sources


TSA may collect information about you from third-parties, including but not limited to third-party verification services, credit bureaus, mailing list providers, and other publicly available sources. This information may include your Social Security number. TSA is intended for the sole use of citizens or legal residents of the United States or its territories.

Use of Information


TSA uses information about you to provide, maintain, and improve TSA services and to deliver the information and support your request, including receipts, notices, support and administrative messages. TSA also uses information about you to personalize TSA services. TSA may use information TSA collects to send you news and information about TSA web based services.

We communicate with you about products and services offered by our select partners and us. TSA may also use information about you to track and analyze trends and usage in connection with our services, to protect our rights or property, to verify your identity, to investigate and prevent fraud or other illegal activities, and for any other purpose disclosed to you in connection with our services. TSA may itself or through a third-party service providers to, process and store personal information in the United States and other countries.

Sharing of Information


TSA may share personal information about you as follows:

  • With third parties to provide, maintain, and improve our services, including service providers who access information about you to perform services on our behalf (e.g., fraud prevention and verification services), including financial institutions, processors, payment card associations, and other entities that are part of the payment process.
  • In connection with, or during the negotiation of, any merger, sale of company stock or assets, financing, acquisition, divestiture, or dissolution of all or a portion of our business.
  • If TSA believes that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable federal or state law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request by an entity of the United States of America; to enforce applicable user agreements or policies; to protect the security or integrity of our Services; and to protect us, our users or the public from harm or illegal activities.
  • With your consent.

TSA may also share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information with third parties; however, TSA will not sell your personal information to anyone.

TSA takes reasonable measures, including administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, to help protect personal information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

Your Privacy Choices


Personal Information

You must update and keep correct information about yourself on file by logging into your Inbox. Should you deactivate your account, TSA is required by federal and state law to retain archived copies of information about you and your transactions for a period-of-time that is consistent with the most restrictive applicable law within the United States of America.

Location Information

When you launch the TSA website, you may be asked to consent to the collection of location information. TSA may require this location information in order to provide our services; therefore, if implemented and you do not consent to this collection, you cannot use our services. If you initially consent to our collection of location information, you can subsequently stop our collection of location information at any time by changing the preferences on your website access device; however, if you do so, your Agreement with TSA is immediately null and void.

Cookies

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject cookies; however, our services may not function properly if you do so.

Communications

You may opt out of receiving emails or text messages from TSA; however, this is how you will be notified of communications in your Inbox. The Inbox is a mutually mission critical component of our services and is not optional but mandatory. If you opt out from receiving emails or text messages, your Agreement with TSA is immediately null and void as such messages are absolutely necessary TrueStar Advisors, Inc.

Online Privacy Protection


Our website uses some of the most secure forms of online communication available, including data encryption, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, and user names and passwords. These technologies provide a high level of security and privacy when you access your account information, initiate online transactions, or send secure messages.

TSA offers customized features that require our use of "HTTP cookies" and similar data files—tiny pieces of information that we ask your browser to store. However, we make very limited use of these data files. We don’t use them to pull data from your hard drive, to learn your e-mail address, or to view data in cookies or other similar data files created by other websites. We will not share the information in these data files or give others access to it—except to help us better serve your investment needs.

When you visit our website, we may collect, either directly or through third-party service providers, certain technical and navigational information, such as computer browser type, internet protocol address, pages visited, and average time spent on our website. This information may be used, for example, to alert you to software compatibility issues or to resolve technical or service problems, or it may be analyzed to improve our web design and functionality and our ability to serve you and your accounts.

In certain cases, we may use third-party service providers to place advertisements for us on other websites, and to help us measure brand awareness and the effectiveness of our online advertising. These service providers may use cookies and web beacons, tiny invisible graphics that contain unique identifiers, to collect limited technical, web navigation, and other information, such as the advertisement presented, your IP address, operating system and browser type, the web page from which you linked to our site (if any), and pages visited or generated on our site. For security reasons, we will end your session automatically if you have been inactive for a period of time. We reserve the right to adjust the inactivity period from time-to-time.

Employees


TSA restricts access to information about you to those TSA employees who need to know the information in order to perform their jobs, such as servicing your accounts or notifying you of new products and services. To protect your personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in keeping with industry standards and practices, and we review and adjust.

What You Should Do


For your protection, we strongly recommend that you do not provide your account information, user name, or password to anyone. If you become aware of any suspicious activity relating to your account, it is your responsibility to contact us immediately.

Please keep in mind the following:

  • Other than sharing your name, do not include any personal details about yourself or your financial situation/investments on any social media website under any circumstance.
  • Due to industry regulations, TSA is unable to accept any testimonials, positive or negative, on any social media website.
  • TSA is unable to provide any specific recommendations or investment advice regarding specific investment products through any social media pages.
  • As a client or otherwise, TSA does not use social media websites as a form of communication for any reason.
  • TSA cannot accept any request for any form of transaction or customer service inquiries through social media.
  • Social media websites are not secure, and everything you post on a site should be considered as open for public view; this includes any and all documents, message, texting, audio, or video.
  • Do not post any content that contains profanity or is offensive, abusive or unlawful.
